Many schools are implementing evidence-based social and emotional learning (SEL) programs to prevent risky and impulsive behavior. While such programs help students gain knowledge, there is much evidence that they do not sufficiently affect behavior. Needham Public Schools (Massachusetts) has crafted a comprehensive SEL approach focused on students' becoming more skillful, responsible, and resilient. This session's presenters will share their framework, process, program choices, assessment practices, and progress with their students, faculties, and parents, preK—12.
