New York State has defined expectations for music, theatre, dance, and visual arts. These include creating, performing, and participating in the arts, knowing and using arts materials and resources, responding to and analyzing works of art, and understanding the cultural dimensions and contributions of the arts. This session will explore how the Rochester City School District engaged the community to ensure exposure to each of the arts, address the state standards, integrate literacy, and incorporate significant professional development.
