A true partnership for learning has at its core committed and involved parents. How can parents become equipped for this role and maximize their effect as their child's teacher and advocate? What responsibilities lie within the school system to welcome and involve parents in the learning process? This session will discuss how parents can prepare to support their child's learning and how schools can engage all parents, even the reluctant ones, to enhance their child's learning. Topics will include a model called the Schools Attuned program, which employs parent views and demystifies learning challenges, as well as other models that help parents understand their child's learning profile.
