Literacy learning communities, an adaptation of professional learning communities, build upon a foundation of collaboration, synergy, and the desire to learn. This session's presenter will provide research supporting this model and its advantages in improving student learning and staff morale. Participants will receive specific tools for assessing a school's literacy culture and creating a staff development plan that includes dialogue, study groups, peer coaching, and/or action research.
