The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) process provides an excellent framework for school-based professional development. This session will demonstrate to participants how principals, building administrators, and teacher leaders can use the framework and the five core propositions to develop an action plan to improve instruction and increase student achievement. Participants will share activities and models of accomplished teaching in their building while creating an action plan for implementing a schoolwide professional development program that focuses on accomplished teaching.
