Educational leaders who focus overwhelmingly on academic achievement often ignore the perspectives of students and other factors that contribute to student well-being, respectful teaching, and joyful learning. This session will describe the SafeMeasures process: a system of educational accountability that brings diverse students and adult leaders together to understand school safety, school climate, and respectful teaching. School climate assessment data and sample action plans to reduce bullying, harassment, and violence, as well as strategies to enhance school climate and student learning, will be shared in this session.
