Using a new supervisory-coaching paradigm, selected principals in New York City high schools have been working to change school culture. This session will explore the beliefs and skills these leaders are using in their urban setting to positively influence teacher reflection, efficacy, and practice. Participants will examine professional development structures, the process of coaching teachers to practice new skills, and effective means of using learning-walk teams to shift the culture in a building.
