Simple instructional strategies, or structures, used as part of any lesson radically reduce the achievement gap between low and high achievers. Participants in this session will experience Sage-N-Scribe, Team-Pair-Solo, and other structures proven to boost achievement across grades and content areas. The structures generate more active engagement, especially among low-achieving students. They increase on-task time and frequency and immediacy of feedback. Empirical studies will be presented demonstrating dramatic achievement gains, and an extensive handout will be provided.
