Session #: 078-14
Presenter(s): Jordan Schnitzer Session Length: 1 hr. 15 min. Event: development '08 Conference Date: October 21-23, 2008
Jordan Schnitzer is chief executive officer of Harsch Investment Properties. His family-owned 57 year old company has been built into a west-coast powerhouse that now controls close to $3 billion in real estate out of its six regional offices. Schnitzer is an insatiable entrepreneur who has grown his company with intense focus, creativity, enthusiasm and energy. He has accomplished this often by running against the herd and relying on an innate instinct he has honed for recognizing and creating value in real estate.
But real estate is only one of his passions. He devotes the same drive to his art collection (which is displayed in many of the Harsch Properties), and his countless charitable endeavors. He is a firm believer in giving back to the businesses and communities that have helped make him successful. These attributes make him a true leader in the real estate industry and a role model that many strive to emulate.
In this CEO Insight session, he will discuss his contrarian approach to the real estate business and how he has succeeded in areas where many have failed. You will see how his viewpoints have turned projects that many have passed over, into incredible success stories. You will also hear about how he has integrated his passion for art and philanthropy into every part of his organization and its culture.
