Sugar addiction is real and may serve as a gateway for alcoholism, drug addiction, eating disorders and depression. Sugar Sensitivity is an inherited imbalance highly affected by diet. Sugar acts as a drug affecting the same neurochemicals as heroin and amphetamine.
If sugar sensitive people eat a diet high in sugar, refined carbs and junk food, they will have mood swings and become depressed or anxious. Often their issues do not respond to traditional interventions as hoped for.
This Master Class will present the biochemical and neural components of sugar sensitivity, how sugar acts as a drug, why it can be a gateway to other addictions and what can be done to treat it. The material presented will include how to diagnose sugar sensitivity and how to treat the biochemical imbalances by changes in eating.
DesMaisons will outline her 7-Step nutritional intervention with specific attention to concrete, step-by-step methods for working with clients in diverse settings. If you deal with sugar sensitive clients or have personal concerns, you will come away with skills that can heal and empower you on a profound level.
