Session #: 788-044
Presenter(s): Ronald Siegel Session Length: 6 hr. 00 min. Event: 2008 Conference Date: December 8-14, 2008
Mindfulness is a deceptively simple way of relating to experience that has been successfully practiced for over 2,500 years to alleviate human suffering. Recently, clinicians are enthusiastically discovering that mindfulness holds great promise for their own personal development, as a way to enhance therapeutic relationships, and as a powerful technique to augment virtually any form of psychotherapy or health care treatment. In this Master Class, you will learn how to develop a personal mindfulness practice and use this to transform your therapeutic presence. We will explore common obstacles to being fully with our clients or patients, and how mindfulness practice can help us to deal with the personal challenge of spending our days trying to connect deeply with people in distress.
