This session will focus on how the Harrison School District (Colorado) developed and implemented a successful 21st century curriculum for at-risk students. Middle school students in the program learn Chinese; use critical-thinking models; and study logic, karate, information literacy, economics, and globalization. The presenter will outline how the district developed the curriculum, hired and trained staff, garnered community support, and funded the program. He will also provide data showing how the program raised student academic proficiency.
