The purposes of this interactive session are to inform educators of the critical need for mentoring African American male youths and to encourage implementation of mentoring programs in schools. Participants will gain a practical understanding of the need for mentoring young African American males and mentoring's impact on their capacity to strive for academic excellence. Participants will leave with a fundamental knowledge of the components needed to design, develop, and implement a successful male mentoring program in their schools.
