Formative assessment is the nexus between teaching and learning. It provides pivotal information for guiding data-driven and differentiated instruction. Using research and best practice, this session will show practitioners how to apply formative assessment on a daily basis. Participants will practice strategies for assessing before, during, and after instruction and will create formative assessments to use in their own classrooms. The presenter will emphasize the importance of aligning assessments with standards and giving meaningful feedback.
