This practical session will offer numerous strategies to help ELL students be successful in the classroom. Using an interactive format, participants will explore the following questions: What can we do to understand English language learners? What can we do to plan effective classroom learning experiences for them? How can we support their acquisition of English while valuing their home language? The presenters will share video clips from both rural and urban settings as specific examples of teachers effectively meeting the needs of English language learners. Participants will leave with practical strategies that support their teaching and student learning.
