Session #: 789-001
Presenter(s): Louis Cozolino Session Length: 1 hr. 15 min. Event: 2009 Conference Date: December 7-13, 2009
Amidst a mixture of neurology's fixation on dementia and our fear and biases against aging, Dr. Cozolino will take a new look at what we know across a variety of scientific disciplines. The brain will be described as a social organ with a mosaic of changes as we age. While it is true that some neural systems decline with age, many remain strong, and others can still improve. Increasingly, evidence points to our evolutionary history as social creatures and contributors to the tribe as sources for our aging brain's strength and improvement.
