Self-compassion is a simple, yet remarkably elusive state of mind. Most of us have a tendency to beat up on ourselves with self-criticism when we fail or feel inadequate. But that doesn't make the pain go away. This workshop offers a healthy, most welcome alternative: self-compassion and loving-kindness (metta) meditation. You'll learn the evidence-base for self-compassion as well techniques to help your patients become more forgiving and kind toward themselves--how to make therapy "rub off" more quickly. You'll also discover how to deepen your therapeutic presence with challenging clients.
