Because traditional talk therapy and psychopharmacology have proven inadequate for the complex mental health problems suffered by the survivors of torture, the Boston Center for Refugee Health and Human Rights, a treatment center for over 3000 survivors from over 50 countries, has developed innovative approaches. Gain new insight into an array of trauma-recovery strategies to help with reconnection to the physical and inner self as well as therapies for self-regulation, empowerment and relaxation. The care of Tibetan monks will serve as an example of this cross culturally sensitive and integrative therapy.
