Why are mindfulness practices proving to be effective for treating such a wide variety of psychological and interpersonal problems? This workshop will examine the common elements cutting across different types of psychological distress and show how mindfulness may be the common factor in effective treatment. Using anxiety and depression as examples, you will learn how mindfulness practice can illuminate the underlying dynamics of psychological disorders, when and how to introduce mindfulness techniques into treatment, and how to tailor mindfulness practices to particular clients.
