Session Length: 1:30 hr Event: 2006 CHA Winter Convention Date: January 29-February 2, 2006
This seminar is aimed at manufacturers who want to understand the advantages of licensing art, and learn how to go about doing it successfully. Topics to be covered include where to find good art, what to expect from an artist, what you should expect to pay, appropriate royalty rates, and how to have a good long-term working relationship with your artists. Manufacturers will also learn how to work with artists and other product development resources from both a legal and effectiveness standpoint. Seminar participants will uncover secrets (and the pitfalls) to handling unsolicited ideas, competition, secrecy, in house talent, and contracts. The topics will cover not only artists, but product development resources, and independent contractors.
